Sunset Smiles in Corolla – The McHugh Family

It was a perfect summer evening in Corolla, and I had the pleasure of photographing the McHugh Family during their stay across from the Currituck Lighthouse. With 8 family members in total, two proud grandparents, their two grown children with spouses, and two energetic grandkids, this shoot was full of connection, laughter, and love.

We kicked things off in the dunes just as the light began to soften, creating the kind of golden hour glow that makes the Outer Banks feel downright magical. From there, we wandered along the beach capturing playful moments and those timeless portraits that will mean even more as the years go by.

There’s something special about photographing multi-generational families like this one. The way the kids light up around their grandparents. The little traditions and inside jokes. And of course, the joy of simply being together on vacation in a place as beautiful as the OBX.
