There are some families that simply feel like old friends by the time our session begins, and the Alford family is certainly one of them. Every time they visit the Outer Banks, I look forward to catching up and creating another chapter of their family's story.
This year's session brought everyone together in beautiful Rodanthe, including grandparents from both sides of the family, Mom and Dad, their three wonderful daughters, and two energetic nephews. Having multiple generations together always makes for a special evening, and there was no shortage of smiles, hugs, and laughter as we worked our way through the beach.
One of the things I appreciate most about the Alford family is the genuine care they have for one another. You can see it in the way everyone naturally comes together, whether it's helping one another across the sand, sharing a laugh, or making sure every member of the family is included in every photograph. Those quiet moments of love are often the ones that become the most meaningful.
The kids were an absolute joy to photograph. The cousins had a great time together, the girls shared plenty of sweet sibling moments, and the boys were more than happy to show off their brotherly bond. We also took time for individual family portraits, grandparent photographs, and a few beautiful images of Mom and Dad together while the soft evening light settled over the Atlantic.
Rodanthe has such a peaceful feel that makes it one of my favorite places for Outer Banks family photography. The sea oats, weathered dune fences, and wide open beaches create the perfect backdrop without ever stealing attention from what matters most: the people in front of the camera.
Thank you again, Alford family, for allowing me to continue documenting your family's journey. It is always an honor to spend part of your vacation together, and I already look forward to seeing all of you again on your next trip to the Outer Banks.
