One of my favorite things about being a family photographer in the Outer Banks is getting to reconnect with returning clients year after year. The Murphy/Flynn family is one of those special groups who I’ve had the pleasure of photographing before, and this summer, they were back in Corolla, twelve of them strong, with laughter, love, and sand between their toes.

This session brought together three sets of parents, a wonderful set of grandparents, and five energetic grandkids, each with their own spark. The littlest one, who was just a baby last time we met, is now officially on the move and adding so much personality to the group. It’s amazing to see how these families grow and evolve, and I consider it a true honor to be the one trusted to capture those milestones.

The weather gave us the soft, glowy skies I dream of during a beach portrait session, and everyone brought their A-game (even the youngest members of the crew). From group shots that radiated joy to candid moments that tell the story of family connection, every frame felt like a celebration of being together.

Corolla continues to be a fantastic spot for Outer Banks family photography, with its peaceful dunes, rolling waves, and soft evening light, it sets the perfect stage for portraits that feel timeless and true.

Murphy/Flynn fam, thank you for making me a part of your OBX traditions. I can’t wait to see how much bigger (and taller!) the grandkids are next time.
