Tuesday evening brought warm temperatures, soft pastel skies, and a beautiful night for an Outer Banks family photography session in Salvo. I met up with the Samia/Tummino Family on the beaches of Hatteras Island for a relaxed session filled with laughter, candid moments, and plenty of fun with the grandchildren.
The beaches in Salvo are always perfect for family photos. The open shoreline, soft dunes, and peaceful atmosphere create an amazing backdrop for natural and timeless portraits. As the magic hour light settled in, the entire beach seemed to glow with soft summer color.
The two grandchildren brought so much personality to the session. From shoulder rides and running through the sand to cuddles with parents and grandparents, there were candid moments happening everywhere. Those real interactions are always what make Outer Banks family photography sessions feel so meaningful.
One of my favorite things about photographing extended families on the Outer Banks is documenting everyone simply enjoying time together. The Samia/Tummino Family shared so many genuine smiles and relaxed moments throughout the evening, which made the session feel effortless from start to finish.
Salvo continues to be one of my favorite locations for Hatteras Island family photography because of its quiet beaches and beautiful evening light. It is the perfect place for families to slow down, enjoy their vacation together, and create memories that last long after the trip is over.
To the Samia/Tummino Family, thank you for spending part of your Outer Banks vacation with me. I hope these photographs always remind you of the warm beach air, the laughter, and your evening together on the shores of Salvo.
