It was such a joy to reconnect with the Epperson family for their latest family photography session in the Outer Banks! As returning clients from 2019 and 2022, they’re no strangers to beach portraits—but this year, we added a special twist: senior portraits for not one, but two graduating seniors—one in high school and one in college.

We met at the Whalehead Club in Corolla, a stunning location that gave us both lush green backdrops and that classic Outer Banks charm. The architecture, the water, the walkways—it all came together beautifully under a soft summer sky, making it the perfect spot for a dual-purpose session.

What I loved most about this shoot was how relaxed and connected the Eppersons are. Whether posing as a full family or letting their seniors shine solo, their love and pride were absolutely unmistakable. And let’s be honest—photographing siblings on the edge of two big life transitions is a pretty special moment to be part of.

From soft smiles on the pier to barefoot shots in the dunes, we captured both timeless family memories and bold, individual portraits that mark this big milestone. It’s exactly the kind of versatile session that makes the Outer Banks such a special place to photograph—especially in a setting as picturesque as Corolla’s Whalehead Club.
