Last night I had the chance to photograph the Miller Kids right here in my own neighborhood in Kitty Hawk. Their mom wanted updated portraits before these two get too old and head off into their own adventures, and I have to say, this session was such a fun mix of energy and artistry.
Her daughter brought such grace to the shoot, showing off her ballerina moves with elegance, while her son leaned into his love for baseball with a look that was confident and full of personality. From pointe shoes to a bat and glove, the two of them balanced each other perfectly.
The best part? We didn’t even have to go far – this whole shoot was literally in the backyard. Sometimes the most meaningful portraits happen close to home, and the golden light over Kitty Hawk gave us the perfect finishing touch.
Sessions like this are a great reminder of why I love photographing families here in the Outer Banks. Whether it’s on the beach, at a landmark, or in a quiet backyard, every setting tells a piece of your story.
