I met up with the Casey Family in Corolla for an Outer Banks family photography session earlier in the day, and the beach could not have been more beautiful. With clear blue skies, warm sunshine, and the dunes lighting up behind us, it was a perfect afternoon for family photos on the northern beaches of the Outer Banks.
This session brought together 10 family members, including grandparents and great-grandparents, which always makes these sessions extra meaningful. One of my favorite things about extended family photography in Corolla is documenting multiple generations together while everyone is able to slow down and enjoy time at the beach.
Even with the brighter daytime light, the beaches in Corolla gave us plenty of beautiful backdrops to work with. From the soft dunes to the open shoreline, every part of the session felt relaxed and natural. The younger kids brought plenty of energy and smiles throughout the evening, while the older generations made the session feel grounded in family connection and tradition.
I especially loved the candid moments during this session. Between the hugs, laughter, playful moments between siblings and cousins, and the grandparents surrounded by family, there were so many genuine interactions that made the entire session feel authentic and fun.
One thing I always enjoy about Outer Banks family photography is how every family brings their own personality to the beach. The Casey Family balanced relaxed portraits with plenty of natural laughter, which made the session flow effortlessly from start to finish.
Corolla continues to be one of my favorite locations for family photography on the Outer Banks because of its wide beaches, beautiful dunes, and timeless coastal atmosphere. Whether sessions happen during magic hour or earlier in the day like this one, the beaches of Corolla always create an incredible setting for family memories.
To the Casey Family, thank you for spending part of your vacation with me in Corolla. It was such a fun afternoon, and I hope these photographs always remind you of your time together on the Outer Banks.
