The Courchesne & Schlink Family - Outer Banks Family Portraits at Lillian Street Beach Access

One of my favorite parts of photographing families on the Outer Banks is seeing multiple generations come together. This session with the Courchesne and Schlink families at Lillian Street Beach Access in Kitty Hawk, NC was a perfect example of why family photography becomes more valuable every year.

I've had the privilege of photographing this wonderful family before, and it was great to see everyone back together for another week at the beach. Returning families are always special because I get to watch the children grow, the relationships deepen, and new memories unfold with each visit to the Outer Banks.

This year included three generations enjoying time together. We started with portraits of the entire family before breaking into smaller groups. The grandparents shared sweet moments with their grandchildren, the family of four had time together among the dunes, and each person had the opportunity for individual portraits that captured their own personality.

One thing I especially enjoyed was how much fun this family had with each other. Along with the classic portraits every family wants, there were plenty of laughs, playful moments, and genuine smiles that made the evening feel relaxed from beginning to end. Those authentic interactions always become some of my favorite photographs from a session.

The children were wonderful to photograph. Their sibling portraits were full of genuine affection, and each of them brought their own personality in front of the camera. I also loved creating individual portraits for the adults, giving everyone a chance to have a photograph that was uniquely their own while surrounded by the beautiful beaches of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

As the evening continued, we moved closer to the shoreline where the soft ocean light created a beautiful backdrop for portraits. The gentle waves, warm sand, and peaceful atmosphere reminded us why so many families choose to return to the Outer Banks year after year to reconnect and create new memories together.
