The Eisner Family – Beach Portraits in Corolla

Some family sessions are all about the location, and the Eisner Family chose one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Corolla on the Outer Banks. The wide beaches, rolling dunes, and soft evening light created the perfect setting for a relaxed family portrait session.

This year's session included 10 family members spanning three generations. The grandparents were joined by their three grown children, spouses, and two energetic grandchildren who kept everyone smiling throughout the evening. The smaller group size gave us plenty of time to photograph everyone together before creating individual family portraits, sibling photos, couples, and plenty of individual portraits along the shoreline.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was photographing each of the adults individually. It's not often that parents or grandparents take the opportunity to have a portrait of just themselves, and those images often become some of the most treasured photographs from the entire session. We also spent time capturing each couple together, giving everyone a chance to step away from the larger group and enjoy a few quiet moments on the beach.

The two youngest members of the family added plenty of personality to the session. Like most little ones, they had their own ideas about how the evening should go, but those little expressions and curious moments are exactly what make family photographs feel genuine years later.

The soft Magic Hour light was beautiful as the sun settled lower over the beach. Between the sea oats, rolling dunes, and gentle ocean breeze, Corolla provided everything you could hope for in an Outer Banks family photography session. The family's coordinated shades of white and light blue fit perfectly with the coastal surroundings and gave the portraits a timeless, relaxed feel.

One of the things I enjoy most about photographing families on the Outer Banks is watching each generation interact. Whether it's grandparents with grandchildren, siblings laughing together, or couples taking a quiet moment by the ocean, those relationships are what make these sessions so meaningful.

It was a pleasure spending the evening with the Eisner Family, and I hope these photographs become part of their family's story for generations to come.

If you're planning a vacation in Corolla or anywhere on the Outer Banks, I'd love to help capture your family's time together. Whether your group includes four people or several generations, we'll create portraits that you'll enjoy long after your beach vacation is over.
