The Vincento Family – Growing Traditions in Southern Shores

One of my favorite parts of being an Outer Banks family photographer is watching families grow over the years. The Vincento Family is a perfect example of that.

The last time I photographed them was back in 2024, and when we met again this summer in Southern Shores, just south of Duck, there were some exciting additions to the family. Since our last session, two new grandchildren have joined the crew, bringing the grandkid count to six. Even more exciting, another little one is already on the way.

We met during magic hour, when the soft evening light settled over the dunes and beach grass, creating the perfect backdrop for a large family session. It was fun seeing how much the children had grown in just a couple of years, and even more fun watching the cousins interact with one another. From the oldest proudly gathering the younger kids together to the newest little faces experiencing the beach, there was never a shortage of smiles.

With three generations together, we captured all the combinations that make these sessions so meaningful. Grandparents with grandchildren, individual family groups, sibling families, and plenty of candid moments in between. One thing that stood out throughout the evening was how naturally everyone fit together. There was a sense of comfort and familiarity that comes from families who genuinely enjoy being together.

The grandchildren stole the show more than once. Whether they were hugging each other, exploring the sand, or simply showing off their personalities, they brought an energy that made the session feel effortless. The youngest family members may not remember this vacation years from now, but these photographs will help preserve these memories for generations.

As the sun continued to drop toward the horizon, we finished with some beautiful images along the shoreline. Looking at the entire family standing together, it was easy to see how much had changed since 2024 and how much there is still to look forward to with another grandchild arriving soon.

I always enjoy reconnecting with returning families, and it was a privilege to photograph the Vincento Family again during their Outer Banks vacation.
