Coast-to-Coast Reunion – The Knight Sukhenko Family in Nags Head

The Knight Sukhenko family brought their coast-to-coast love story to the beaches of Nags Head this summer and I got to capture it. With family members living on opposite sides of the country, they chose the Outer Banks as their meeting spot for a vacation filled with laughter, sand, and plenty of dynamic portraits.

This session included Grandma, her adult children, a brother and sister, and the sister’s husband, along with a spirited crew of grandkids who kept the energy high from start to finish. Everyone came ready to have fun, and we made the most of it with some big movement, playful poses, and a few spontaneous moments that turned into instant favorites.

It’s always something special when a family makes time to come together like this, and even more so when they’re fully present and up for anything. The golden Nags Head light didn’t hurt either.

Family sessions like these are why I love photographing in the Outer Banks—there’s always a story behind the smiles, and the Knight Sukhenko family’s story was one worth telling.
