I had the pleasure of photographing the Rodlin family for the first time during their recent visit to the beautiful beaches of Kitty Hawk, right here in the heart of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. With two sets of loving grandparents, happy little ones, and a cool coastal breeze, this family session had everything that makes Outer Banks photography so magical.

We started near the dunes, where the soft beach grass and weathered fencing gave us that signature Outer Banks charm. The Rodlins showed up in coordinating beachy blues and whites, and their energy was nothing short of joyful. The happy baby and playful toddler kept everyone smiling—especially when dad lifted his daughter into the air for a laugh-filled moment that instantly became one of my favorites.

As the light shifted into that dreamy golden hour glow, we moved closer to the ocean. The waves rolled in behind us, the breeze picked up just enough to keep things cool, and the Rodlins leaned into the experience with laughter, hugs, and plenty of candid moments.
