Jordan Family – Corolla Family Photography

Summer evenings on the Outer Banks always seem to create the perfect backdrop for family photographs, and the Jordan Family's session in Corolla was no exception. With eight family members gathered together on the beach, this session was filled with laughter, strong family connections, and a few exciting milestones along the way.

One of my favorite parts of this session was seeing multiple generations come together. We had grandmothers from both sides of the family joining us, creating a wonderful opportunity to capture photographs that will only become more meaningful with time. The relationships between grandparents, parents, children, and future family members tell a story that goes far beyond a single vacation.

The family included two grown sons, each accompanied by their significant other. Adding even more excitement to the evening, one of the couples had recently become engaged. There is something special about photographing families during seasons of change, and you could feel the excitement and anticipation as everyone celebrated the newest chapter in their family's story.

As the session continued, we created a mix of large family portraits, individual family groupings, and plenty of couple photographs. The beach provided a beautiful setting with soft light, rolling waves, and the classic Corolla dunes that make Outer Banks family photography so unique. Even with a few clouds moving overhead, the conditions created a soft and flattering look that worked perfectly for portraits.

One of the highlights of the evening was watching the couples relax and enjoy their time together in front of the camera. Whether it was quiet moments by the ocean or a little playful fun along the shoreline, those genuine interactions often become some of the most treasured images from a session.

Family vacations bring everyone together for a short time, but photographs help preserve those moments long after the trip is over. The Jordan Family's session captured not only where they are today, but also the relationships, milestones, and memories that make this season of life worth remembering.
