I always love when I get to work with families year after year, and the Newman Kummerer crew is one of those special ones. By now, they know the rhythm of a session with me, which means we’re able to jump right in and make the most of every moment.

This time, we met up in Corolla for a beautiful evening session. The walk to the beach was a bit of a hike (and a bit warm), but as soon as we got to the shore, the ocean breeze brought some welcome relief. Once we settled in, it was easy to capture those relaxed, genuine moments this family always brings to their sessions.

The Newman Kummerers make photographing a group of 12 feel like a breeze. Everyone came ready with big smiles and great energy, and even with the variety of smaller family groups, the whole session felt easy and fun. The Outer Banks gave us the soft skies and sandy shoreline we needed for a perfect backdrop, and these portraits are going to be ones they’ll treasure for years.
