Some sessions are all about capturing the connection between family members, and the Roberts Family made that easy. Mom and her three kids met me at the beautiful Sanderling Resort in Duck for a golden hour session, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening on the Outer Banks.
As the sun began to settle toward the horizon, we started with classic family portraits before spending time highlighting each of the kids individually. With two daughters and a son, it was fun to see the different personalities come out in front of the camera. From confident smiles to plenty of laughter and sibling antics, everyone brought their own energy to the session.
One of my favorite moments came when the kids were simply being themselves. The playful interactions between the sisters and their brother created some of the most genuine photographs of the evening. Those candid moments are often the ones families treasure most years down the road.
Of course, we also made time for Mom's portraits. The soft golden light reflecting off the ocean created a beautiful backdrop and gave us some stunning images that highlighted both her personality and the relaxed atmosphere of an Outer Banks vacation.
As the sky softened into pastel colors and the waves rolled onto the beach, we wrapped up a session filled with smiles, laughter, and memories. It was a wonderful evening at the Sanderling Resort and a perfect reminder of why I love photographing families on the Outer Banks.
