The Slattery Family – Another Wonderful Evening in Corolla

One of the best parts of being an Outer Banks family photographer is getting to see families return year after year. Watching children grow, families expand, and new memories unfold is one of the things I enjoy most about this job. This year I had the pleasure of photographing the Slattery Family again during their vacation in Corolla, and it was great to spend another evening with them on the beach.

The weather could not have been much better. We were treated to a beautiful Corolla evening with soft light, comfortable temperatures, and just enough breeze to remind us we were on the Outer Banks. The dunes were glowing, the ocean was calm, and everything came together perfectly for family portraits.

With fifteen family members spanning multiple generations, there was never a dull moment. The grandparents were surrounded by children and grandchildren, and it was easy to see how much everyone enjoyed being together. Large family sessions are always special because they capture a season of life that can never quite be recreated again. Years from now, these photographs will be a reminder of this vacation and the time they spent together on the beaches of Corolla.

I also enjoyed photographing each family individually. Every family group brought its own personality to the session, and it was fun creating portraits that reflected those unique relationships. From grandparents with grandchildren to parents with young children and siblings spending time together, there was no shortage of meaningful moments to capture.

As the sun continued to drop toward the horizon, the soft evening light gave us the perfect finishing touch. The combination of beautiful weather, a gorgeous Corolla beach, and a family that genuinely enjoys being together made this session one to remember.
