There are some families who feel less like clients and more like old friends after so many years together, and the Stolar Family is certainly one of those families for me.
I've had the privilege of photographing them for years, and one of my favorite parts of our sessions is seeing how much the kids have grown from one summer to the next. Looking back through old galleries, it's amazing to see how quickly time passes and how each year brings a new chapter to their story.
This year's session took place in Nags Head after a rainy morning that had us all keeping an eye on the weather. Thankfully, the skies cleared, the beach dried out, and we were treated to a beautiful evening along the Outer Banks shoreline. The soft light, sea oats, and gentle colors created the perfect backdrop for another memorable family session.
One thing I always appreciate about the Stolars is how relaxed and enjoyable their sessions are. Everyone settles into the experience quickly, which allows us to capture both classic portraits and the natural moments that happen in between. Those candid smiles and genuine interactions are often the images families treasure most.
As always, I loved creating a mix of large group photographs, individual portraits, and updated images of the kids. Watching them grow year after year has been one of the great joys of working with this family, and this session was another reminder of why I love being an Outer Banks family photographer.
Thank you, Stolar Family, for continuing to trust me with your memories. It is always an honor to spend another evening with you on the beaches of the Outer Banks, and I am already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year.
