There are some families that feel like old friends the moment you see them — and the Viner family is exactly that. Year after year, they return to the Outer Banks and give me the privilege of capturing their time together. Lately our favorite spot has been Avon Pier.

These three sisters are full of love, laughter, and grace, and now that the “grandbaby” is a growing up, each session feels like a new chapter in their family story. We’ve created so many memories together — from mid afternoon sessions with that golden light, to sun glasses in the sand and quiet moments by the waves.

The Viners actually prefer earlier sessions, which I love — it keeps everyone relaxed and on track for a good bedtime (and let’s be honest, that matters when you’ve got a little one in tow!).
